There are in our existence spots of time,That with distinct pre-eminence retainA renovating virtue, whence, depressedBy false opinion and contentious thought,Or aught of heavier or more deadly weight,In trivial occupations, and the roundOf ordinary intercourse, our mindsAre nourished and invisibly repaired.–William Wordsworth, The Prelude, book XII, lines 207-15.

*This activity was formerly called “Sacred Text Reading.” That proved misleading–for one thing, more often than not our sources are secular–but it’s worth describing the qualities of a sacred text, which we still look for in the readings we choose. It is any reading that helps us to:
- connect to something of supreme importance to us
- feel more connected to other beings or to the universe
- feel more intensely alive
- align our lives with our values,
- perceive or feel more deeply
- be more fully and authentically ourselves.
Thriving Together – A Health & Wellness Support Group (in-person)

Each session will focus on practical, easy-to-implement lifestyle changes that have been proven to enhance longevity and overall well-being—from improving gut health and reducing inflammation to learning how to get restorative sleep and build sustainable exercise habits. You’ll get expert insights and peer support in a welcoming community that makes the journey to wellness both achievable and enjoyable.
Join us to learn, connect, and thrive together!

Upcoming Special Events
Dancing From Within – Open Movement & Sound Bath for All Ages
02/28/2026, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Main Hall (Add to calendar: Google, iCal, webcal)
Do you feel the need for a respite from the worries of life right now? Would you like a deeper sense of connection with your body and your soul?
If so, then please join your fellow church members for an open movement event, Dancing From Within on Saturday, Feb. 28th from 2-4pm in UUCPA’s Main Hall. There will be a guest DJ who is experienced with curating reflective and life-affirming music, and all ages are welcome and encouraged.
The style is open or “free” dance, with no set steps or guidance. Just you, the dance floor, and whatever “moves” you. This allows for whatever expression is called forth from within you, whether exuberant or mellow, joyful or contemplative… or perhaps all those and more! An additional treat will be a healing sound bath towards the end of the event, so bring a yoga mat or blanket to lay on as you soak in the gentle, calm, rejuvenating sounds. We will gather together briefly at the end in a closing circle.
Because this is a time to go within and see how movement can deepen your connection with yourself, we’d appreciate little or no talking and no cell phone use during the dance. (If you really need to attend to something you can step outside.)
Please contact Marianne Neuwirth with any questions. Her contact info is available by contacting the church office uucpa@uucpa.org. Dancing is good for the soul and helps us connect with ourselves, so please plan to join Dancing From Within on Feb. 28th!

UUCPA on the Growing Native Garden Tour
04/19/2026, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm UUCPA (Add to calendar: Google, iCal, webcal)
Sunday, April 19, from 10-4 the UUCPA garden will be on the Growing Natives Garden Tour (as will a number of gardens on the Peninsula.
This is our best opportunity each year to bring the public into our large native garden, hopefully inspiring more native gardening on the Peninsula, and sharing our values, especially with respect to the interdependent web. Can you help on Sunday, April 19, when the UUCPA Native Garden is on the regional Growing Natives Garden Tour?
We need volunteers for docent (some knowledge of natives preferred) and greeter. The shifts are 10-1 and 1-4 but do come early and stay a bit later as needed for overlap.
Contact Nancy Neff garden@uucpa.org. Or visit on Mondays 10:00-12:00+ and do a little gardening with us!
To attend the tour, for insurance purposes please register at www.gngt.org (Of course UUCPA members may tour the UUCPA garden any time without registering.)
