Each year in November, the church auctions goods and services at a wonderful party. Members donate everything from homemade jam to a condo in Mexico, and they are bid in silent auction, or for the best items, a live (and lively) auction. One favorite item that gets competitive bidding is a convenient parking slot for a year.
Come dressed up (or not!) and ready for the best UUCPA party of the year, and it’s all free! Delicious food to munch on, wine to sip, and a live jazz band to enjoy, plus many many items to bid on in both the Silent Auction and the Live Auction plus a Kids’ Auction and movies for kids right after that.
You can also see the catalog online, at https://charityauction.bid/uucpa2019 or download the pdf. Note that the online catalog is the most up to date, while the pdf is only generated periodically (last updated 11/9/19).
We’ll have an auction table in the patio after each service. We need friendly volunteers to staff the table and sell raffle tickets, help folks sign up to help on auction night, and accept donations. It’s only a thirty-minute shift, and you talk with lots of great people. If you can help one or more days, sign up at the patio table on Sunday or email email@example.com.
This auction is made possible by the donations of our members. Please start thinking about what you’d like to offer – a party, a lunch, a dinner, an outing, a service, something delicious to eat, something handmade, art, or anything else you can think of. You can offer something by yourself, or with friends, or with an organized group (e.g. Choir, Chalice Circle, Committee, Board of Trustees). If you’d like to donate to the auction -– either a tangible item or an event, submit your auction offering using this online form or email the pertinent details to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll put it in our catalog, which will be made available in both print and on the web a few weeks prior to the auction.
Do you have a favorite restaurant or store that you visit often? Pamela (email@example.com) can give you a letter to take to them asking for a donation, like a discount on a meal. You’d be surprised at how many would be pleased to participate!
